GOODYBE SPRÖDE WINTERHAUT

GOODYBE CHEWY WINTER SKIN

When the leaves fall from the trees, gingerbread and cinnamon stars appear on supermarket shelves, and the winter coat is pulled out of the closet, it's also time to switch your skincare routine to "winter." The falling temperatures take their toll on our skin, but there are a number of tips and tricks to help us stay radiant throughout the cold season.

Cold weather damages the skin.

When it gets colder outside, the skin can quickly become pale and cracked or prone to flaking.

The reason? The cold causes the sebaceous glands to produce less oil. Since the blood vessels also constrict, blood circulation to the skin is impaired.

The result? The skin's protective function is reduced, making it more susceptible to external influences. The temperature differences between heated indoor spaces and icy winds on the street place an additional strain on the skin.

The solution? The skin needs to be supplied with plenty of moisture.

Pay attention to individual needs
There's no one-size-fits-all solution for perfect winter skincare, because everyone's skin is affected differently by the cold. If you're unsure, ask a dermatologist or esthetician which skincare routine is right for you.

One thing applies to everyone: those who use intensive moisturizing care morning and evening support the skin's natural protective function and can prevent dry, chapped skin. In winter, the skin can benefit from a little more time and richer care.

The basics of winter skincare
Which care for what
In winter, use pH-neutral soaps and washes (e.g. , [W]ASH AWAY Purifying Gel Cleanser ) whenever possible, and make sure the water isn't too hot to avoid further drying out your skin. Always apply a moisturizer after showering. Your lips will appreciate natural and rich care, such as that based on beeswax or shea butter (e.g. , SHE[A] RAW – enriched shea butter cream ), and it's best to moisturize your hands several times a day with a rich, moisturizing lotion.

UV protection
You should never forgo sunscreen, even in winter. It is a significant factor in preventing skin cancer and premature signs of skin aging.

Crowd
Don't use too much cream or gel, as your skin may be overwhelmed by the absorption. Instead, apply less product and reapply as needed.

Ingredients
Rich creams are ideal in winter. This applies to both face and body. However, especially if your skin is prone to blemishes, you should definitely not forgo your usual facial cleansing and care routine in winter and avoid overwhelming your skin with too many new ingredients.

In general, products containing urea or glycerin are ideal because they provide plenty of moisture. However, it's especially important in winter not to further impair the skin's protective barrier with an excessive amount of dyes, fragrances, or even alcohol in your skincare products. Therefore, opt for products like our creams, which contain less than 1% fragrance.

It's time for special treatments

Shorter and less intense sun exposure isn't all bad. It's the perfect time for certain facial treatments. So, take advantage of the winter months for things like:

Support your skin with a healthy diet, sufficient hydration, and the endorphins released during exercise. Moisturizing masks for face and hair, oil baths for the hands, and facials to support the skin's natural protective barrier are ideal right now.
